Electro-Harmonix 6CA7EH

Designed to the exacting specifications of the Phillips 6CA7 tube, this classic tetrode returns to life in a big bottle design. The 6CA7-EH is built to withstand today's high-gain amps while still retaining the detailed tone and component integrity of the original. A direct replacement, with military reliability, for any EL34 tube type.

1
Electro-Harmonix EL34

According to the technical journal, Vacuum Tube Valley, the "...new EL34EH tube comes very close to the sonics of a Mullard EL34..."
2
Genalex - Gold Lion KT77

The Genalex/Gold Lion KT77 tubes have full, yet tight and dynamic lows. They have great clarity in the mid-range as well, and extended highs. Many audiophiles that have previously enjoyed the Winged "C"/SED EL34 tubes have reported that these KT77 tubes are noticeably better.

JJ 6CA7

From our review: "It’s a classic sound for beefy rock anthems. The sound is firm and articulate.
4
JJ E34L (EL34)

From our review of this EL34 tube: "The sound is well balanced with tight bass response and great mids..."

5
JJ KT77

The JJ KT77 is an alternative to the common EL34 tube.
From our review: "Overall a nice balance of tone in bass, midrange and treble. The breakup is earlier than a 6L6 with more compression but not as compressed as the EL34. If you have a Marshall amp and find EL34’s too compressed and 6550’s too crunchy the JJ KT77 may be just the ticket."

6
Mullard EL34

This new production Mullard EL34 tube is New Sensor's reissue of the famous Mullard EL34.

7
RFT EL34

The RFT EL34 tube is an outstanding value for a NOS EL34 tube. From our review: "These tubes are extremely warm sounding and if you have one of those amps that sound thin at lower volume levels, these should take care of that problem in short order. Midrange response seemed slightly skewed toward the bass side. This is no doubt where the extra warmth is coming from. The high end was smooth and clear without a trace of harshness."

Mesa Boogie offers this tube with their part number STR450.

8
Shuguang EL34-B

From our review of this EL34 tube: "The sound is loud and clear with a very nice sonic range. Not excessive in tops, mids, or bass..."

9
Shuguang Treasure 6CA7-Z

The new Shuguang Treasure series 6CA7-Z tube sounds fantastic and looks great too.

10
Sovtek EL34WXT

From our review of this EL34 tube: "Sovtek has come a long way with this tube since the EL34G..."

11
Svetlana EL34

For guitar players that need an EL34 tube and play classic rock music we don't think you can find a better tube than the Svetlana EL34.

12
Tung-Sol EL34B

From our review, "When driven into distortion it starts off a bit crunchy like a 6L6 but as you push it, the sound blooms into that singing EL34 tone with great sustain and modest compression."

13
Winged "C" (SED) EL34

From our review of this EL34 tube: "If you want one EL34 tube that will do anything the Winged "C"/SED is money well spent..."
